Big Yard Farm is owned by hosts Sarah and Arnie Shields and the Shields family: Jackson and Molly, Kieran, Freya and Winston the Golden Retriever who stars in many social media posts.
Directions: From Snowy Mountains capital Jindabyne, turn left at the second roundabout onto Barry Way. Drive 12.5km along Barry Way and then at small country church, St Thomas’ Catholic Church, turn right into Big Yard Road.
Big Yard Road is a well-maintained dirt road, which borders some unfenced cattle pastures. It’s essential to drive slowly along the and be careful not to startle cows – especially calves – who might wander onto the road.
Big Yard Farm is at 696 Big Yard Road. Fun fact: it’s 6.9 kilometres from the main road turnoff!
